Is your hosting really safe?
Many people mark WordPress as something that is potentially unsafe. They even say: ‘WordPress is an unattended root shell that as useful side feature, contains a blog’. Well, you can never take security too seriously in this business. More se when you are responsibly for the accessibility of others’ data.
What most hosting providers do not realize is by saving money on infrastructure you are compromising security. For example let’s say that you own a block of flats that share the same apartment door key for convenience: you can not reasonably believe that at some point in the future the residents won’t try to sneak into someone else’s apartment. Nor is it wise to presume that no one will ever lose their key. What some of our clients tell us is: “WordPress is simply not safe, I got hacked as someone broke into the provider’s server and infected everything”.
What do we do to prevent this? Simply put, we do not have a block of flats: we have a vast array of houses in a private district where said houses are not connected to each other. We are the only ones who supervise said district and one burglary does not affect the neighbouring houses.
As for the vulnerability of WordPress: we believe that when the design principles are followed to the letter and only battle-proven, legally bought plugins are used then it is safe to use.

We have dedicated New Zealand and Sydney-based servers to host content exclusively for NZ local businesses and privately owned servers at Google for the EU and US region.
